At Fashion Weeks held around the world, runway models aren’t the only ones being photographed.  Fashion designers, magazine editors, celebrities, and more attend these shows, so the media takes advantage of the moment to document what they are wearing to the fashion shows.  And all of these trendsetters use this perfect opportunity to make their fashion statements.

Here’s something I noticed over and over among the jewelry-fashioned: doubling, tripling, or quadrupling their necklaces.  Above are two examples.  On the left, you see a woman in Amsterdam wearing two heart necklaces at the same time, very tastefully done.  On the right, you see a woman from Stockholm wearing three long silver strand necklaces: one bold and two more delicate.  If you’re getting a little bored with your existing necklaces, get trendy and start mixing & matching!

Gabrielle Union keeps the glitz and glam perfectly at bay with her great look at the premiere of Seven Pounds with her ensemble, with what I would call “understated glamour”.  Her dress is undoubtedly a formal gown, but it is a solid color, with simple, clean lines.  And, while this dress could be paired with diamonds and gems galore, Ms. Union chose a more casual range of jewelry, hence the “understated” look.  With formal wear, often the jewelry you wear suggests the level of formality.
